The Commemorative Cross to the Romanian Heroes of the First World War is a monument built between 1926 and 1928 on Caraiman Peak at an altitude of 2291 in Bucegi Mountains. At 39.3 meters height, the monument is the tallest cross in the world situated on a mountain peak, as recognized by Guinness World Records in 2014. It is popularly known as the "Cross on Caraiman".
The Sphinx is a natural rock formation in the Bucegi National Park, located at an altitude of 2216 meters, within the Babele Complex. The origin of the name is due to its resemblance to a human head, more precisely to the Egyptian Sphinx. It was formed due to wind erosion and measures 8 meters in height and 12 meters in width.
