Issued as a business strike for circulation and individually in Brilliant Uncirculated condition to commemorate the 50th year of Pride UK. The Royal Mint confirmed that this 50p coin would be the last to feature The Queen on the obverse as it was released into circulation via Post Offices across the UK on Tuesday 25 October, 2022.

The reverse design was created by the artist, writer and LGBTQ+ activist Dominique Holmes and this piece marks the first time The Royal Mint have celebrated the LGBTQ+ community on a UK coin. The design was also struck in colourised copper-nickel, colourised silver proof and colourised silver piedfort, gold proof and gold piedfort.

This coin was issued individually in a Brilliant Uncirculated pack (14,428 sales), in a coin and stamp cover (1,319 sales) and in trade packaging for third parties (41,113 sales).
