Similar to the Silver Jubilee Crown issued for currency but struck in Sterling Silver (.925 silver fineness) with raised edge lettering.
In the 1934 Royal Mint annual report it was discussed regarding the striking of these pattern pieces.
It was discussed in the Royal Mint annual report for 1935-36 that these were pattern coins unlike the .500 circulation versions:
Varieties:
KM#842a, Sp#4050 .925 fine, Proof, raised edge lettering;
KM#842a, Sp#4050 .925 fine, Proof, raised edge lettering - error edge (DECUS ANNO REGNI ET TUTAMEN XXV) "An ornament in the year of reign and a safeguard 25th". At least 18 examples exist.
