Comments

Île Madame is a very small island, with a total surface area of 0.78 km2. It stretches over a maximum length of 800 m and a maximum width of 400 m, and is shaped like a rectangle.
It is linked to the mainland by a sand and pebble channel, known as the Passe aux bœufs, which is around 1 km long and accessible only at low tide. This is a tombolo, a dune ridge formed by sedimentary and fluvial deposits, which is welding Île Madame to the mainland. This pass is particularly popular with tourists during the summer months, yet it is subject to the same tidal phenomena as Mont-Saint-Michel, and presents the same dangers. https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C3%8Ele_MadameAutomatically translated
