Comments

The cross on the obverse is a symbol to show the participation of Theoderich II. von Wied at the crusades, the same cross that was worn on their garments. Theoderich who shares the same name as his father followed his footsteps in travelling to the holy land in 1216.
The battles on Mount Tabor inspired him on his return in 1217 to rename the city around castle Humbach into 'Mons Tabor' which is nowadays called the city of Montabaur.
