The 2nd battalion of the 94th Infantry Regiment were stationed in Eisenach.
On 28.10.1702 Duke Ernst Wilhelm of Saxony-Weimar established a company of "Guards on Foot", which as a ducal house troop and intended only for honorary and guard duty.
