Comments

Struck at the Osaka Mint for use in the Netherlands East Indies. The only inscription found on them is Dai Nippon: Great Japan. The war situation had worsened to the point that shipping the coins became virtually impossible. Consequently, none of these coins were issued in the East Indies and almost the entire issue was lost or were remelted at the mint. Dates are from the Japanese Shinto dynastic calendar.
