Comments

The Standard Catalog of World Coins lists 2008 under KM# 89 and doesn't mention this metal variation (yet).

Differences between the 2008 magnetic and 2008 non-magnetic in case you don't have a magnet. All differences are on the reverse. Different coloured arrows within a picture are always equal (copy & paste).

1. Different fonts for "PESOS". The magnetic coin has a bigger hole in the "P", longer legs for the "E", more curled "S's" and an oval "O".

2. The dots beside the lettering "REPUBLICA DOMINICANA" are closer to this lettering and the lettering itself is closer to the inner ring on the magnetic coin.

3. The date on the magnetic coin is wider and closer to the rim.

4. Many differences on the coat of arms. On the magnetic coin:
- The upper banner is very close to the outer ring.
- Shorter shield.
- Less and wider horizontal and vertical bars on the shield.
- Bigger arrow heads on the flag poles.
- Smaller cross.
- Different flag drapes.
- More leaves touching the lower banner at left.
- The knot under the lower banner is flatter.
