Obverse

Red and black ink on light beige paper. Title ‘Kassenschein der Stadtgemeinde Wien’ in curved black lettering at the top centre. Large black number ‘10’ to the left and right. ‘Heller’ in large black lettering in the centre. In the centre a stylised red image of Vienna City Hall within a red, circular decorative frame. The background of the note is decorated with a repeating red pattern of stylised coats of arms and the inscription ‘STADTGEMEINDE WIEN’. In the centre of the bottom edge is the printing mark ‘H. ENGEL & SOHN, WIEN’.

über 10 Heller.
Zur Linderung der Kleingeldnot gibt die Gemeinde Wien
für eine weitere Million Kronen Kassenscheine aus.
Diese Kassenscheine lauten auf 10 Heller, sind
unverzinslich, werden von der Gemeinde Wien bis 30. Juni
1920 in Zahlung genommen und in der Zeit vom 1. bis 30.
Juni 1920 in gesetzlichem Bargelde eingelöst.
Die Nachahmung dieses Kassenscheines wird
gesetzlich bestraft.

Translation:
Cash voucher of the municipality of Vienna
for 10 Heller.
To alleviate the shortage of small change, the municipality of Vienna issues cash vouchers for a further million Kronen.
These cash vouchers are denominated in 10 Heller, are
non-interest-bearing, will be accepted in payment by the Municipality of Vienna until 30 June 1920 and redeemed in legal tender in the period from 1 to 30 June 1920.
The counterfeiting of this cash voucher is punishable by law.
