The obverse of this note has the text "ΝΕΟΝ" overprinted on it, meaning "NEW." These notes were overprinted before entering circulation, as a way to avoid confusion from the public between this note and earlier bisected notes that circulated at half their face value.
All notes are dated 1918 or 1919, but were issued into circulation in 1922 .
