Year:
The year of issue for the individual notes can be found in the bottom-right blue series number. The two middle digits give the last two digits of the year of issue; e.g. A0721E = (19)72.
Withdrawel:
Withdrawn since 11 March 1980, when it was replaced by a coin.
Additional information about the images on the note:
The portrait on the face of the banknote is of Cathrine Sophie Kirchhoff, née Christensen, who was married to Johan Henrik Kirchhoff, Councillor of State. The portrait was painted in 1768 by Jens Juel (1745-1802). The original painting is in the collection of the Museum of National History at Frederiksborg Castle.
The eider on the reverse was reproduced from a 1909 watercolour, "Queen eider", by the painter and graphic artist Johannes Larsen (1867-1961).
Security thread:
The note has a security thread. In Prefix A0-A4 it is black, and A4 to B8 it is light. Prefix A4 exists with both black and a light security threads. Siegs Seddelkatalog 2014 mentions light security strip from serial number 4407824 to 4721385 and again from 8592995 to end.
Nickname:
Due to the animals portrayed on this series of notes, they are sometimes affectionately called by their featured creatures. Hence, this note can be called an "edderfugl" in Danish.
Signatures:
The signature to the left is one of the 3 Governors of the National Bank. The signature to the right is always Henrik Valeur (Chefen for Seddelfaget/"Head of Notes").
