• Prefix Structure 

Numerator (Letter): Represents the specific note design issue, minor changes in the design does not require change in letter.For this note it is an Arabic letter (ن). 

Denominator (Number): Indicates the print run or issuance sequence of this particular design. Each prefix number has its own date indicated on the banknote which may change with each print. For this note design, Prefixes are from (ن/١٧) to (ن/٢٣٤) .  The prefix number may be written in two  styles : Narrow style (ن/١٢٣) or Wide style ( ن/ ٣ ٢ ١ ).

Serial Numbering (SN#): Each Prefix includes serial numbers ranging from 1 up to 9,999,999.- Printed by Print house of Central Bank of Egypt.

Replacement notes: Extra prefix of notes are printed to replace ruined notes during their production. In order not to ruin the numbering of ordinary series, they are given prefix numbers in hundreds. Different dates are also printed on each prefix. 

For this note, prints are issued  from (ن/١٠٠) at 2000 to (ى/٤٠٠) at 2013. 

Special Replacement notes: During production, some sheets might get damaged, instead of destroying the whole sheet, the damaged part is removed and the rest of the sheet is reused on different printing machine. Prints from this machine are given special series number (٩٩٩), different dates are also printed on such  notes. For this note, only one prefix  (ل/٩٩٩) was issued with date 26.6.2013.

• Security threads (S.T.):

From Prefix 17 to 67  (6.9.2000 to 14.2.2007): There are two security threads present on the banknote; 

          A-Buried S.T. Reads “جنيهㅤ۱۰۰” (100 Pounds) on far right of the of the obverse side and is only visible under a backlight.     © Kiet Tran
