The standard weight of these pieces was 80 to the pound or one fifth ounce avoirdupois (87½ grains).

1902 reverse die varieties:

Halfpennies struck early in 1902 used the same reverse die as the veiled head Victoria issue.
This was slightly changed during 1902, resulting in the low tide and normal tide varieties.

KM#793.1, Sp#3991A (1902 only) Low Tide, sea level further from Y, meets folds in Britannia's robe;
KM#793.2, Sp#3991 (1902-1910) Normal Tide, sea level closer to Y, meets where Britannia's legs cross;
