The proclamation ceremonies held in Buenos Aires for the new king Charles III was the most lavish and luxurious held in that city during colonial times. The ceremony was conducted on November 10th 1760 and lasted for 21 days. A theater was erected in a corner of the Plaza Mayor for music, theater and dance. Other activities included opera and bull fighting. During these ceremonies medals were cast in both gold and silver with images of the new king.
