Comments

These coins were struck for both Suriname and Curaçao:

1941 P
------ 300'000 Curaçao
------ 500'000 Suriname
1942 P
------ 0 Curaçao
------ 1'500'000 Suriname
1943 P
------ 500'000 Curaçao
------ 4'000'000 Suriname
(Schulman (2023) states that the 4.5 million 1943 coins were minted for Suriname alone, in contrast to Scholten (1951) and Passon (2022))

While Krause lists these coins under Curaçao (KM#37), more coins were struck for Suriname though, where it is not listed. Discussion has taken place where to put these coins in the Numista catalog. In the Dutch catalog Muntalmanak (Schulman), the coin is placed under the Netherlands and in the Dutch catalog regarding the overseas territories (Scholten) the coins can be found under the West-Indies section (1361-1363).
The concerning referees decided to put them under both the countries on Numista.

The palm tree mint mark on these coins signifies that these coins were intended for the overseas territories of the kingdom. The coins intended for the mainland (the country of the Netherlands) were marked with an acorn.
