Countermark of papal key and countermark of anchor atop a Santo Domingo four maravedis host coin.

Comments

The papal key countermark was applied pre-1582, while the anchor countermark was later applied around 1582, revaluing 1/11th of a Réal. The anchor indicated the Columbus family, which was authorized under the Marquis of Jamaica, who was part of that family.
