Coin was demonetized by act of Tynwald from 4th May 1840 (effective from 21st Setember 1840). Thereafter only the mainland coinage was in use on Isle of Man.
Pieces with date of 1841 and 1959 are mules not intended to be in circulation. There were made by mixing the dies used for 1839 Isle of Man penny reverse with 1841 & 1859 dies for obverse of English penny carring the same bust of Queen Victoria.
