Stockholm Södra Spårvägsaktiebolag (SSB), often referred to as the South Company, was a traffic company in Stockholm which existed between 1886 and 1927. Due to the conditions at Södermalm, especially the backward topography and sparse poor population, Stockholm's New Railways Limited company declined to build trams in the district. Instead, a separate tram company for Södermalm was formed.

The SSB was founded by engineer Gustaf Dalström and the first general meeting was held on February 8, 1886.

On August 11, 1888, the company started its traffic. The company made no profit and in 1890 SSB turned to Stockholms Nya Spårvägsaktiebolag offering them to take over the company which they declined. In 1891, traffic was transferred to Södra Spårvägarnes Trafikaktiebolag (SST), which operated until April 1900.

A steam train was started on August 11, 1887 between Karl Johans Torg (present Slussen) and Hornskroken . An extension was made on June 21, 1888, from Hornskroken to Hornstull . From November 16, 1901, the line was electrified.

From 1908, Stockholm became part of the company. From August 4, 1911, SSB undertook traffic on the newly opened South Suburbs . In 1918, SSB's lines were transferred to AB Stockholms Spårvägar and on April 4 it was decided that the company would enter into liquidation . The last liquidation meeting did not take place until 1927, when the SSB formally ceased.
