Fuld-117/420fo, Stuck on 1838-O No Stars Dime
1863 Washington - Exchange. Struck over 1838-O Dime, Fuld-117/420fo, R.8, Only six to 10 examples of this die combination are known struck on a U.S. dime, and this one was overstruck on an 1838-O No Stars Liberty Seated dime. The date from the dime is fully visible at 9 o'clock relative to the token obverse, and the mintmark is visible at the bottom of NG in EXCHANGE on the reverse. Deep gray surfaces host faint steel-blue overtones.
