Comments

This token represents the chapel of the Templars in Laon.
In 1134, the Templars established a Commandery of the Order of the Temple in Laon.
The octagonal chapel of the Commandery was built around 1140 and the choir of the central building is a replica of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem.
The religious building was used as a funeral chapel. It contains the tombstone of Guillaume de Harcigny, doctor to the King of France Charles VI. Property of the commune, the chapel is classified as a Historic Monument by list in 1846.Automatically translated
