The Kerguelen Islands are a group of islands in the southern Indian Ocean. It is a territory of France. They are located at 49°15'S, 69°35'E. The main island, Grande Terre, is 6,675 km² and it is surrounded by another 300 smaller islands and islets, forming an archipelago of 7,215 km².
