This token represents the polar bear Flocke, who celebrated her 3rd birthday on December 11, 2010.
As a result of the degradation of its natural environment by melting ice, the polar bear is now a vulnerable species. Indeed, if global warming continues, more than 2/3 of polar bears will have disappeared from the planet by 2050. Yet this animal is as necessary to the balance of life in the Arctic (North Pole) as penguins are to life in the Antarctic (South Pole). In recent years, the polar bear has become the emblem of global warming and melting ice.
