As King Rama V tried to decimalize the Baht by issued the coins of Siam Anachak series but not quite successful, he still want the currency to be decimalize anyway. So he had to prepare low value coins as they would be widely used by the people.
At last, Brussels Mint was chosen to prepare coins od the new decimalized currency. Although it costed higher than other mint but the quality of coins were better. The new coins were monetized on November 11th, RS127/BE2451/AD1908.
King Rama VI continued to order the coins from Brussels mint. In RS132/BE2456/AD1913, the mint made pattern coins dated RS132 as always, but King Rama VI's reforming calendar system in Siam, changing the official from Rattanakosinsok (RS) to Buddist Era (BE), making RS132 coin disapproved and changing the date on the coin to 2456.
In BE2463~2467/AD1920~1924, there might be some problem about ordering the coins from foreign mints, so Siam had to mint the coins by itself using dies from Brussels Mint and Philadephia Mint.
In 1926, the international aution was held to find the manufacturer of 1 Satang and 5 Satang coins, which Mitsui & Co. won the aution of 1 Satang. They ordered the coin production from Ōsaka Mint, which produced from 1926 to 1929, in total of 100_000_000 coins.
