Part of the Silver Proof Bush Babies set of ten 1/2 Oz Colourised 50 cent coins released by the Perth Mint between 2010 and 2013.

The beloved bilby is an Australian desert-dwelling marsupial that is nocturnal. The bilby lives in burrows underground to protect itself from the heat and predators. This marsupial has adapted so well to its environment that the female’s pouch faces backwards so that it does not fill with dirt when she is digging!
