The scholar Fray-Kupper distinguishes these coins based on the shape of the neck cut: if convex, they belong to the earliest mintings in Sicilian mints and the initial ones in Sardinia. The coins with a concave neck are all of Sardinian production, as in this case
The weight of the unit should therefore be attributable to the Euboic-Attic Greek standard, making it a coin intended for circulation in Sicily and Sardinia.
All the mintings with a convex neck feature necklaces with pendants in the metropolitan Carthaginian style, and in any case, a more refined design.
