On March 12, 1851, President Manuel Isidoro Belzu, at the request of the Municipal Council of La Paz, decreed the founding of the National Mint of La Paz.

 

The National mint of La Paz was released with the minting of Medals Commemorative Coins using planchets from 2 Soles, designed to celebrate this event.
