Historian and biographer (1881-1916)
Rue Quentin-Bauchart is the extension to the Champs-Élysées of Rue de Chaillot which, in the section between Rue Georges-Bizet and Avenue Marceau, is the former main street of the village of Chaillot. This section was called "rue de Chaillot" until 1919, when it was renamed in honor of Pierre Quentin-Bauchart, a Paris city councilor who died on the battlefield.
A graduate of the Ecole des Sciences Politiques and Doctor of Letters, he succeeded his father Maurice Quentin-Bauchart (1857-1910) as city councillor for the Champs-Élysées district (1911-1916), in Paris's 8th arrondissement. Captain of the 72nd infantry regiment during the First World War, he was mortally wounded inspecting the front lines at Bouchavesnes (Somme). https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rue_Quentin-Bauchart

The 72nd infantry regiment became the 272nd R.I. in 1914.Automatically translated
