In the upper half of a circle, a strophe of the "Hémecht" (national anthem), in the lower half, the American and Luxembourg flags, adapted to the curvature of the circle. The upper part of the border is decorated with rays with the face value at its center. The lower part of the border bears the legend with the commemorative dates.

Coin commemorating the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Luxembourg by the American troops.
Two different variants were struck at the mint in Brussels:

The piece on polished flan is recognizable with the acronym "qp" after the date on the reverse side, with its grooved edge and its diameter of 37.5 mm.

The specimen in FDC does not have an abbreviation behind the vintage, its edge is smooth and its diameter slightly smaller (37 mm).
