Nine symbols arranged in a circle representing the countries of the E.E.C. concerned by the European Monetary System and the ECU. France, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Germany, Denmark and Ireland. Under each of them the respective abbreviation. In the center the word ECU crossed, and the year.
