Cette médaille a été frappée pour être offerte, à différents modules, aux donateurs américains de vêtements et de vivres. Le transport de ces jetons vers ses donateurs avait été interdit par les Allemands à cause des effigies royales de l'avers. (voir document sur le lien ci-après page 89)
