Coin was issued in complete proof set:
    

 

The similar coins from 1981-1983 were issued in silver 0.925 when 1980 coins were made from silver 0.500. 

In addition, the 50p coin from 1980 has a slightly different obverse than the coins from next years (smaller Queen's bust, legend little differently aligned).
